Founder’s Note: Why PixiKwik Is Changing the Way Beauty Professionals Get Supplies

When we first imagined PixiKwik, we weren’t simply thinking about creating another technology platform. We were thinking about the people who keep the beauty industry moving every day.

We thought about the hairstylist rushing from one appointment to another after realizing they were running out of developer. We thought about the barber who needed one essential product to complete a client’s service. We thought about the salon owner balancing appointments, employees, inventory, and the constant demands of running a growing business.

For beauty professionals, time is more than convenience. Time can mean another appointment, another client, another opportunity, and another day of business.

Yet getting professional beauty supplies quickly has often been far more complicated than it should be.

That realization became the foundation for PixiKwik.

A Better Way to Access Beauty Supplies

PixiKwik was created with a simple idea: beauty professionals should be able to get the products they need when they need them, without unnecessary trips, delays, or disruptions to their workday.

At the same time, we recognized another important part of the equation — the local beauty supply stores that have served their communities for years.

These businesses already have the products, expertise, customer relationships, and community trust. What many of them have not had is a simple way to compete in today’s increasingly digital marketplace.

PixiKwik brings these two sides of the beauty industry together.

Our goal is to connect beauty professionals with local beauty supply vendors through convenient, on-demand delivery while helping independent beauty supply businesses reach more customers and expand their digital presence.

Supporting Beauty Professionals and Local Businesses

We believe technology should strengthen communities, not replace them.

That’s why PixiKwik is designed around local beauty supply stores. Instead of asking vendors to completely change the way they operate, our platform is designed to help them participate in the digital economy while continuing to serve the communities they know best.

For beauty professionals, that means easier access to professional products.

And for the beauty industry as a whole, it means creating a faster, more connected ecosystem.

Building the Future of Beauty Supply Delivery

The beauty industry is evolving quickly. Social media has accelerated trends, professional services are becoming increasingly fast-paced, and customers expect convenience in almost every part of their lives.

For local vendors, it means new opportunities to reach customers.

Beauty professionals shouldn’t have to choose between serving their clients and spending valuable time searching for supplies.

We believe the future of professional beauty supply delivery should be simple, fast, local, and technology-driven.

That’s the future PixiKwik is working to build.

    Welcome to the PixiKwik Community

This newsletter is another part of that journey.

Through The Kwik Drop, we’ll share company updates, beauty industry trends, educational resources, community stories, upcoming events, new partnerships, and the people helping shape the future of professional beauty.

Most importantly, we want this newsletter to be a place where the PixiKwik community can stay connected.

To our beauty professionals, vendor partners, educators, beauty schools, industry leaders, supporters, and everyone who believes in what we’re building — thank you.

Your trust and support mean everything to us.

We are still at the beginning of this journey, but our vision is clear.

We’re not just delivering beauty supplies.

We’re delivering time, opportunity, innovation, and a new way for beauty professionals and local businesses to thrive together.

    Welcome to the PixiKwik family.

    With gratitude,

  • 2026 Beauty & Hair Trends: What’s Shaping the Industry Right Now

2026 Beauty & Hair Trends: What’s Shaping the Industry Right Now

Right now, the beauty industry is all about authenticity, individuality, healthy beauty, and expressive style. Beauty pros are moving away from overly “perfect” looks and leaning into beauty that feels personal, effortless, creative, and healthy. Here’s what’s driving the conversation in salons, on shelves, and on social media this year.

    Key Takeaways

    • Scalp health is being treated like skin care, with serums, microbiome treatments, and exfoliants gaining ground.
    • Luxury body care is expanding fast as consumers adopt full-body skincare routines.
    • AI is reshaping beauty retail through personalized recommendations, shade matching, and inventory forecasting.
    • Soft, healthy-looking texture — soft glam blowouts, bobs, and low-tension natural styles — is replacing overly polished looks.
    • Makeup trends favor “real skin,” glossy lips, bold eye color, and clean-girl minimalism.

Hair Care Is Becoming “Skin Care”

Scalp health continues to be one of the fastest-growing categories. Brands are investing in products that treat the scalp like facial skin, including scalp serums, microbiome-balancing treatments, exfoliating products, and ingredients focused on hair longevity rather than just appearance. Consumers are also looking for science-backed solutions for thinning hair and healthy growth.

    Luxury Body Care Is Exploding

Body care is no longer an afterthought. Premium body washes, serums, creams, and treatments are becoming a major growth category as consumers adopt full-body skincare routines. Analysts expect luxury body care to outpace many traditional beauty categories over the next several years.

    AI Is Transforming Beauty

Artificial intelligence is becoming a competitive advantage for beauty brands and retailers. Companies are using AI for personalized product recommendations, shade matching, inventory forecasting, consumer trend analysis, and product formulation. This is especially relevant for delivery platforms like PixiKwik, since AI can help predict which salons will need specific products before they run out.

    ai is transforming beauty

Professional Beauty Still Needs Faster Fulfillment

Salon professionals continue to value speed and convenience when replenishing inventory. The need for same-day access to professional products remains a significant opportunity, particularly in large metropolitan markets like Los Angeles. This trend supports the value proposition of companies such as PixiKwik, which aim to reduce downtime for beauty professionals.

    Trending Hairstyles

The “Soft Glam” Blowout — big, bouncy, healthy-looking hair is back: soft curls, movement, shine, and volume inspired by 90s supermodels and modern red carpet looks.

Box Bobs + French Bobs — sharp, chic bob cuts are everywhere right now: clean, polished, fashionable, and easy to style.

Low-Tension Natural Hair — protective styles with less pulling and less stress on edges are becoming huge in the textured-hair community, with natural curls, soft braids, twists, and free-flowing styles trending.

Luxe Braids — boho braids are evolving into cleaner, polished, luxury-inspired braided looks with beads, curls, and gold accessories.

Bold Hair Colors — copper tones, honey blonde, hot chocolate brunette, cherry cola red, and pastel highlights are trending heavily.

Micro Bangs / Wispy Fringe — fashion-forward bangs are making a comeback thanks to celebrities and runway culture.

    Trending Makeup

“Real Skin” Makeup — people want glowing skin that still looks like skin: less heavy contouring, more natural beauty.

Glossy Lips + Lip Contouring — soft lined lips with gloss and fuller lip shaping continue to dominate beauty culture.

Bold Eyes + Pops of Color — electric eyeliner, colorful shadows, metallic accents, and graphic eye looks are making a major comeback.

“Clean Girl” Beauty — minimal makeup, slick buns, glowing skin, simple gold jewelry, and effortless fashion are still very influential on social media.

    Why Beauty Events Matter

    Beauty trends can change quickly.

A technique that is emerging today can become a major trend tomorrow. New products, tools, education methods, and business opportunities are constantly entering the market.

That’s why staying connected to the professional beauty community matters.

Beauty shows and industry events give professionals the chance to step away from the everyday routine, learn something new, meet people in the industry, and bring fresh ideas back to their clients and businesses.

For salon owners and beauty professionals, continued education isn’t just about improving technical skills. It’s also about understanding where the industry is going next.

  • PixiKwik Platform Update: Vendor Network Growth, App Availability & What’s Next

PixiKwik Platform Update: Vendor Network Growth, App Availability & What’s Next

Most local beauty supply vendors are still operating offline — no e-commerce, no delivery, no digital presence. PixiKwik was built specifically to close that gap. Field research conducted across Los Angeles found that nearly 90% of beauty supply vendors interested in joining PixiKwik weren’t selling online at all before onboarding. For 8 out of 10 of those vendors, PixiKwik represents their first-ever online sales channel.

We remove the barriers that keep great stores offline — no website required, no logistics management, no staffing increases, no operational disruption. Vendors keep running their business exactly as they always have. PixiKwik handles the rest: guaranteed on-demand instant delivery, expanded reach to working beauty professionals, and immediate digital competitiveness without the cost or complexity of building it alone.

    Vendor Network Growth

PixiKwik’s Los Angeles vendor network is actively expanding. Our Phase 1 goal is 50 onboarded beauty supply vendors across key zones in LA County, giving beauty professionals consistent access to professional-grade products wherever they work. Vendor onboarding is ongoing — beauty supply stores interested in joining the network can visit www.PixiKwik.info to learn more.

    App Availability

The PixiKwik platform is live and available for download on both iOS and Android. Two apps power the ecosystem: the PixiKwik Pro App, for beauty professionals to place on-demand instant delivery orders, and the PixiKwik Vendor App, for beauty supply stores to manage inventory, receive orders, and track deliveries.

The platform is currently available in select areas as part of the Los Angeles Summer Rollout Pilot — including Mid-City, Inglewood, Mid-Wilshire, and Koreatown. Search “PixiKwik” on the App Store or Google Play to get started.

A Celebrity Ambassador Joins the Mission

PixiKwik also recently welcomed celebrity ambassador Kenan Thompson, who has joined the company in believing in its vision as PixiKwik continues building its platform and community.

    What’s Coming

Each month, PixiKwik will highlight new platform features, vendor milestones, delivery performance updates, and technology improvements as the company scales across Los Angeles and beyond. PixiKwik is building in public, with the goal of showing its community, vendor partners, and investors exactly how the platform is growing.

  • Beauty Pro Product Spotlight: Scalp Care & Protective Serums Worth Stocking

Beauty Pro Product Spotlight: Scalp Care & Protective Serums Worth Stocking

People are moving away from heavy grease that clogs follicles and are instead focusing on a clear, clean base for scalp health. Here’s a look at some of the standout scalp care and protective styling products beauty pros are reaching for right now — all available through PixiKwik’s vendor network.

    Sea Breeze Astringent

Used as a cleanser for oily skin, a pre-shampoo treatment, or a scalp massage product, Sea Breeze Astringent for skin, scalp, and nails is a fan favorite. Coined an excellent pre-makeup conditioning tool, it helps freshen and tone skin while gently removing dulling excess oils and dry scalp buildup.

Design Essentials Scalp Care Anti-Itch & Tension Relief Scalp Butter

This scalp treatment is designed to relieve itching, dryness, and the tight, sore feeling that can come with braids, twists, wigs, weaves, locs, and other protective styles. Tea tree oil helps soothe itching and keep the scalp feeling refreshed, peppermint oil delivers a cooling sensation that reduces discomfort, and aloe vera calms irritation while adding moisture — all working together to help prevent dryness.

Design Essentials Honey Crème Moisture Retention Masque

This professional-grade, deep-conditioning treatment is formulated to deeply moisturize, strengthen, and soften dry or damaged hair. It’s especially effective for medium to coarse hair textures, low-porosity hair, and color-treated strands.

    Mizani Moisture Fusion Intense Hydration

Hydration is the foundation of healthy Black hair. Because tightly curled and coily hair naturally makes it more difficult for the scalp’s oils to travel down the hair shaft, Black hair is more susceptible to dryness, brittleness, and breakage. Keeping hair properly hydrated restores moisture, improves elasticity, and helps strands remain soft, flexible, and resilient.

Mizani’s Moisture Fusion Intense Hydration line is designed to deeply nourish and replenish dry, thirsty hair, especially for textured and coily hair types that require extra care. This advanced formula delivers a powerful surge of moisture, helping to restore softness, improve manageability, and enhance the natural beauty of curls and coils.

Design Essentials Moroccan Oil Thermal Serum

Modern growth and protective formulas increasingly combine clinical science with traditional botanical remedies to stimulate blood flow and support the hair’s growth phase. Design Essentials Moroccan Oil Thermal Serum is a strong option for anyone seeking breakage protection while using heat. This lightweight, heat-protective styling essential is formulated to shield hair from thermal damage while enhancing smoothness and shine. Infused with nourishing Moroccan argan oil, it helps seal in moisture, reduce frizz, and improve overall manageability — making it ideal for use before blow-drying, flat ironing, or curling.

    Where to Find These

All of these products are available now through the PixiKwik app — browse participating vendors near you to check current stock and place a same-day order.

  • Vendor Spotlight: Candy’s Beauty Supply — Nearly Three Decades Serving Inglewood

Vendor Spotlight: Candy’s Beauty Supply — Nearly Three Decades Serving Inglewood

PixiKwik sat down with Michael Park of Candy’s Beauty Supply, one of our founding PixiKwik vendors. Located at 350 W. Century Blvd, Ste C in Inglewood, CA, Candy’s has been serving the community since 2002 and is known as a one-stop shop for wigs, hair extensions, braiding hair, and salon products. We partnered with Michael and his team so PixiKwik users can keep supporting a store that’s been an Inglewood staple for over two decades — order through PixiKwik, and you’re still supporting your community beauty supply store. We get in traffic so you can stay out of it.

What inspired you to enter the industry?

Before entering the beauty industry, I operated a discount mart beginning in 1995. During those three years, I noticed the growing demand and opportunity within the beauty supply business. In 1997, I opened my first beauty supply store in Long Beach. As the business grew, I expanded with two additional locations in the Long Beach area before eventually expanding into Inglewood, where Candy’s Hair and Nail Beauty continues to serve the community today.

What were some of the biggest challenges in the early years?

One of our biggest challenges was that we did not have much knowledge about the African American beauty industry when we first started. However, my wife had an excellent eye for beauty products, cosmetics, fashion, and emerging trends. Her instincts were often right, and many of the products she selected performed very well. We were committed to learning the business. We attended beauty trade shows throughout the United States and even traveled internationally to attend beauty and fashion exhibitions in Hong Kong. Those experiences exposed us to new products, trends, and ideas while helping us better understand the needs of our customers. As we gained experience and listened to our customers, we developed a much deeper understanding of the industry and were able to build a stronger business.

What motivated you to stay committed through the ups and downs of the business?

Fortunately, we were able to navigate many economic challenges without experiencing severe financial difficulties. We lived through major events such as the financial crisis, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, and the housing market downturn. During those difficult periods, our loyal customers continued to support us, and that support gave us the confidence to keep moving forward. One of the most rewarding parts of this business has been building long-term relationships with our customers. I still remember seeing some of our customers come into the store as children, holding their parents’ hands. Today, many of those same customers return with children of their own. Watching generations of families continue to shop with us has been incredibly meaningful and reminds me why we have stayed committed to serving our community for so many years.

You’ve been a vendor for many years — how have you seen your business evolve?

The biggest change has been the impact of the internet and social media. It has completely transformed the beauty industry, especially among younger generations. When I first started, customers relied heavily on beauty supply stores to learn about products and trends. Today, customers often discover products online before they ever walk into the store. The changes became even more noticeable after the pandemic. Shopping habits shifted significantly, and customers became more comfortable researching products, watching tutorials, and making purchasing decisions through social media platforms. Trends spread much faster than they did in the past, and new products can become popular almost overnight.

What changes in the beauty industry have impacted your business the most?

One of the biggest changes has been the growth of protective hairstyles and the constant evolution of braiding trends. As more people embraced protective styling, the demand for braiding hair, extensions, wigs, accessories, and maintenance products increased significantly. Over the years, we’ve seen trends continuously change — from traditional braids to box braids, knotless braids, crochet styles, lace wigs, and other innovative looks. Each new trend creates demand for different products and supplies, requiring beauty supply stores to stay current and adapt quickly.

How has social media changed your business?

Social media has become a major influence on the beauty industry, especially among younger generations. Many customers now rely on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to learn about products, discover new styles, and follow beauty trends. In the past, customers often came to beauty supply stores looking for advice and recommendations. Today, many customers walk into the store already knowing what they want because they have seen it online. Social media has made information more accessible and has accelerated the speed at which trends spread.

What separates a quality beauty supply vendor from the rest?

A quality beauty supply vendor is more than just a supplier. The most valuable vendors build strong relationships with their customers and understand their business needs. Trust, communication, and reliability are essential for long-term success. Consistent inventory is also critical — retailers depend on vendors to keep products available when customers need them. Finally, quality vendors stay current with industry trends and continue introducing innovative products that customers are looking for.

What does longevity in business require?

Longevity in business requires hard work, adaptability, and a commitment to serving customers. The beauty industry is constantly changing, and businesses must be willing to evolve with new trends, products, and customer expectations. Listening to customers has been one of the most important factors in our success. Good customer service, strong relationships, and staying up to date with industry trends have helped us remain competitive and relevant for nearly three decades.

What has been one of your proudest accomplishments as an owner?

One of my proudest accomplishments is serving multiple generations of customers and becoming a part of the Inglewood community. Some of our customers first visited our stores as children, accompanying their parents on shopping trips. Today, many of those same customers return with their own children. Seeing those relationships continue across generations has been one of the most rewarding aspects of owning a business.

How do you define success at this stage of your journey?

At this stage of my journey, success means stability and having loyal customers. Early in business, success is often measured by growth and expansion. After many years in the industry, my perspective has changed. Today, I value a stable business, loyal customers, and the trust we have built within the community.

What legacy do you hope to build through your work?

I hope Candy’s Hair and Nail Beauty is remembered as a trusted beauty supply store and a place known for honesty, service, and genuine care for its customers. Throughout my career, I have believed that long-term success is built on trust. If people remember Candy’s as a business that treated customers fairly, supported the community, and provided dependable service for many years, that would be a legacy I would be proud of.

    What’s next for Candy’s?

The future of Candy’s Hair and Nail Beauty is focused on growth through innovation and adaptation. As the beauty industry continues to evolve, we plan to strengthen our social media presence and connect with customers through the platforms they use every day. We also see opportunities to expand our online sales and make it easier for customers to shop with us beyond the traditional store experience. At the same time, we will continue adapting to new beauty trends and customer preferences.

If you could leave one message for aspiring beauty supply owners and vendors, what would it be?

My advice is simple: work hard, listen to your customers, learn the industry, and build strong relationships. Success does not happen overnight. Take the time to understand your customers’ needs and continuously educate yourself about products, trends, and changes in the market. Most importantly, build relationships based on trust and service. Customers remember how they were treated.
